What is Import/Export License?

An Importer Exporter Code (IEC) refers to a business identification number that is mandatory for exporting any product from India or import to India. Any person is not allowed to import or export without getting an IEC. An individual or a business entity needs a 10 digit code for importing or exporting products or services. This code is issued by the DGFT, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India.

When is the IEC Registration required?

How to get Import/Export Code (IEC) in India?
